PROJECT BACKGROUND

This award-winning project is a story of partnerships, historical building adaptive reuse, harnessing technical intellect and skillsets in live events, and building design and in-field integration. U.S. Squash, the national governing body for the sport of squash in the United States, has dreamed of a national center for squash for decades. Their partnership with Drexel University ultimately led to the use of the Philadelphia 33rd Street Armory, originally constructed in 1916, as the new home for U.S. Squash.
